What Counts

Tailgating, weaving aggressively through traffic, and confrontational gestures all escalate risk for everyone nearby, not just the two drivers directly involved.

De-escalating

If you encounter an aggressive driver, the safest response is to give them extra room, avoid eye contact or gestures that could be read as provocation, and never retaliate — matching aggression with aggression is how a minor annoyance turns into a serious incident.
