Chapter 46: Accidents
Immediate Steps
- Stop immediately — leaving the scene of any collision, even a minor one, can turn a routine incident into a criminal hit-and-run charge.
- Check yourself and others for injuries before worrying about vehicle damage.
- Move vehicles out of the active traffic lane if they are drivable and it is safe to do so, to avoid a secondary collision.
- Call 911 immediately for any injury, or for damage that appears significant.
